Dance/Movement Therapy

Healing the Mind by Moving the Body

At Doors of Hope, we know that sometimes words aren’t enough to express what’s going on inside. That’s why our Dance/Movement Therapy program invites children and youth to explore their emotions, build confidence, and heal through creative movement.

Movement is a natural form of expression, especially for young people. Whether it’s through dance, stretching, or simple body awareness exercises, this therapy offers a powerful way to release stress, strengthen identity, and reconnect with joy.

Who Can Benefit?

Dance/Movement Therapy is especially helpful for:

  • Children and youth dealing with trauma, anxiety, or depression

  • Those with sensory processing challenges or developmental disorders

  • Youth who struggle with verbal expression or communication

  • Individuals who have experienced grief, violence, or instability

  • Families looking to improve connection, confidence, and emotional regulation

Movement therapy is accessible to everyone—no dance experience is needed.

Why It Matters

When children move, they begin to shift things—emotionally and physically. Dance/Movement Therapy creates a space where they can safely release big feelings, learn to regulate their bodies, and build a sense of self they can carry with them.
It’s not just about moving—it’s about growing, grounding, and healing.

Let’s Move Toward Healing—Together

If your child or teen struggles to express themselves or cope with stress, Dance/Movement Therapy may be the path to connection and growth. We’re here to support your family every step (and dance) of the way.
