Helping Children Heal Through the Power of Play

At Doors of Hope, we understand that children don’t always have the words to express their feelings—but they do have play. Through play, children explore the world, process emotions, and build relationships. That’s why our Play Therapy services are a core part of how we support children’s mental and emotional well-being.

Designed especially for children, our Play Therapy program creates a safe, welcoming space where they can work through challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and grow emotionally—one game, story, and creative moment at a time.

Why Play Therapy

Play therapy is a proven, child-centered approach that uses play as a language. Just like adults talk through their challenges in therapy, children play through theirs. It helps them:

  • Make sense of difficult experiences

  • Express thoughts and feelings in a safe way

  • Work through anxiety, anger, grief, trauma, or behavioral challenges

  • Build problem-solving skills, confidence, and emotional strength

It’s not just playing—it’s powerful, purposeful work that helps children grow emotionally and socially.

We offer

INDIVIDUAL PLAY SESSIONS

focused on building trust and emotional expression

PARENT CONSULTATION AND SUPPORT

to help caregivers understand their child’s needs and behavior

INTEGRATED FAMILY SESSIONS

when appropriate, to strengthen the caregiver-child bond

ART AND SENSORY PLAY

to encourage creativity and healing

How We Support Families

At Doors of Hope, our licensed therapists are trained in child development and trauma-informed care. We create a warm, welcoming space where children feel safe to be themselves—and where healing can begin.

Let’s Play, Heal, and Grow
